Magic Comes to Jazz Friday at the Brevard Art Museum
MELBOURNE, FL - Friday, August 20, Derek Gores, local artist, will be showing the five works commissioned by the city of Orlando and the Orlando Magic for the new Amway Arena in the galleries at the Brevard Art Museum. Two Magic Dancers will also join the Museum for Jazz Friday while Gores' collages are on display. Five colossal canvasses bring the spirit of our westward neighbor portraying the nightlife, skyline, Lake Eola, and of course, the Orlando Magic. All will be on display through Sunday, August 22.
The Tom Stewart Trio visits the galleries from even farther west, Tampa, FL for an evening of jazz. Jazz Fridays are the third Friday of each month from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 and Museum members are free. Jazz Fridays are sponsored in part by WFIT and AT&T Real Yellow PagesŪ, and includes raffle prizes and door prizes.
Also on view through September 5, is the exhibition Just Suppose: The Otherworldly Images of Jerry Uelsmann and Maggie Taylor. The exhibition From the Mind of Robert H. Clarke is on view through September 19.
